Principal's Message

Dearest Friends and Families of P.S. 130M:

Our sincerest gratitude to all of you for your continued support of P.S. 130 Manhattan! Our success wouldn't be possible without each and every one of you. There's always a deep sense of joy and pride when our children take center stage. When the spotlight is on our children each and every day and we focus on doing the best that we can to empower our students so that they can succeed, then the magic is able to continue to happen at P.S. 130.

With each and every challenge that we face, our students step up, our parents step up, our teachers step up, our staff members step up, our school leaders step up, and the entire P.S. 130 community steps up. Thanks to everyone for your commitment to the education of our children; you all deserve a big hand and a standing ovation. Bravo!

I am truly thankful and grateful to be a part of this amazing community. I continue to learn each and every day because of the children at P.S. 130, and because of our teachers, our staff members, and our community. Thank you all so much!

Our Location

PS 130 Manhattan is located at 143 Baxter Street, New York, NY 10013.

It is conveniently located close to B, D, N, Q, R, J, Z, and 6 trains and many MTA buses.

Programs

Intervention Programs

These programs are designed to help children who are struggling or need special attention in school. Children are selected according to need:

After school Extended School Day Program (for children in grades 3, 4, and 5 who scored a level 1 or 2 on the state tests)
One-Day Saturday Institute for ELA Test Prep (for all Grade 4 children)
Small group reading and/or math instruction (for children on all grades who need help)

In order to provide a well-rounded educational experience, we offer a variety of arts programs throughout the grades:

5th Grade (Fall)	American Ballroom Dancing Classrooms Program

Also available: Young People's Chorus (audition in 3rd Grade, continue through 5th), school chorus, and fife and drum corps (Grades 3–5, after school).

At P.S. 130 Manhattan, we are committed to providing a rigorous academic program that prepares every student for success. Our curriculum integrates the arts, technology, and hands-on learning experiences to engage students at every level.

Our dedicated teaching staff works collaboratively to ensure differentiated instruction meets the needs of all learners, from our Gifted & Talented program to targeted intervention support.
